Now in its seventh year, the ModboCo School of Art offers classes for most ages and skill levels. The ModboCo’s mission is to provide our students with an access point to art making, as well as a safe place to fail. We aim to celebrate our students’ growth, challenge them, and ensure quality in our teaching. At the end of the day, we want to help shape the cultural identity of our community, to create with integrity, to open possibilities, and to have fun in the process. What are you waiting for? Mondays from 6-8 pm, beginning January 18th, Mixed Media Explorations, $175
In the mixed media class, students will explore art creation with a variety of different mediums. Mediums will include watercolor, gouache, printmaking, gold leaf, assemblage, acrylic, and collage. Students will also learn about artists throughout art history who created with these mediums. The intention of this class is to allow students a chance to play and experiment while creating work.
Tuesdays from 5:15 til 7:15 pm, Drawing 101, $160
If you have never drawn before, or feel rusty on your drawing skills, this is the class for you! Students will be taught basic sight reading, handling of media, artistic vocabulary, still life and life drawing, and introduction to perspective. This class is the perfect starting point for all classes in the ModboCo curriculum.
Tuesdays from 7:30 til 9:30 pm, Advanced Studio, $160
Are you currently creating a body of work? Or stuck in a rut? This critique and studio class may be just the thing for you. Artists are invited to bring in their works in progress during this course. There will be a few sessions with models, lots of discussion, and the chance to learn from both the instructor and your peers.
